Mainstay are delighted to have partnered with a growing IT MSP based in Birmingham. They are seeking to a Pre-sales account manager to join their Pre-sales team.
As an IT Pre-Sales Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in driving the growth of an IT Managed service provider by providing technical expertise and guidance to the sales team. This position is ideal for an IT engineer looking to transition into a customer-facing, consultative role. You will work with clients to understand their technical requirements and develop tailored solutions that address their challenges. The role will involve collaboration with sales and implementation teams combining your ability to communicate with a technical and non-technical audience seamlessly to deliver a top-class service and tailored IT solution for each client.
Technical Expertise: Leverage your deep technical knowledge and experience to understand client needs, identify opportunities, and recommend appropriate IT solutions.
Solution Design: Collaborate with our sales team to design and customize IT solutions that align with client objectives, budget constraints, and technical constraints.
Presentations and Demos: Conduct technical presentations and product demonstrations to potential clients, effectively communicating the value of our solutions and addressing technical inquiries.
Requirements Analysis: Gather and analyze client requirements to create detailed technical proposals, including scope, specifications, and implementation plans.
Technical Support: Offer pre-sales technical support, answering client queries, addressing concerns, and providing technical documentation as needed.
Client Relationship Building: Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted technical advisor throughout the sales process.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Experience of working as a senior engineer dealing with 2nd / 3rd line escalations.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to translate technical concepts into clear, understandable terms for non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Highly organized with strong project management skills.
- Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., CompTIA, Cisco, AWS, Microsoft, etc.) is a plus.
