Location: Birmingham
Hybrid working from the Birmingham office with occasional travel to other locations.
Salary: £45,000 – £60,000 Dependent on experience

Mainstay Recruitment is seeking a dynamic Finance Manager on behalf of our client a National Facilities Management company. Your role will be to oversee a key portfolio and play a pivotal role in shaping financial strategy and driving impactful decision-making.

About the Role:

As Finance Manager, you will manage the preparation of management accounts and collaborate closely with the Senior Leadership Team. Your insights into profitability, financial performance, and strategic execution will influence high-level decisions and contribute to the organisation’s commercial success.
This role involves working across various departments, from commercial and operational teams to senior business leaders, to deliver clear financial insights and support strategic initiatives that improve operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee management accounts for a defined portfolio.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports to inform strategic decisions.
  • Monitor performance using key financial indicators, identifying opportunities for growth and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Director and Senior Team to manage financial discussions, cash collection, and commercial activities.
  • Ensure effective management of billing, cash collection, and financial controls, with accurate reporting of completed and in-progress work.
  • Work with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance.
  • Actively support business projects, bids, and change programmes, with a focus on process improvement and automation.


About You:

To excel in this position, you should possess:

  • A professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and technical accounting matters.
  • Excellent commercial and strategic awareness.
  • Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Advanced Excel skills for presenting complex data.
  • Familiarity with SAP systems (preferred but not essential).
