Mainstay Recruitment is seeking a qualified and experienced M&E Engineer for the East Region. This role involves supporting the effective and timely delivery of additional works, planned and responsive maintenance, reducing corrective actions, and ensuring their closure within agreed timescales. The M&E Engineer will work on various buildings and projects, including maintenance, pre-construction, and construction for accommodation, office spaces, and training facilities. This will be a mobile role covering 2 sites which will expand to six sites once full training and accreditations have been achieved

Key Responsibilities:

  • Competence Assessment: Evaluate the skills of operatives to ensure they are qualified for assigned tasks and conduct regular reviews of their performance.
  • Safety and Compliance: Produce high-quality Risk Assessments and Method Statements, issue safety programs, and Permits to Work as required. Conduct Plant Room inspections.
  • Technical Support: Provide expert advice to site teams, subcontractors, and end-users. Record tasks and ensure all job-related documentation is accurately completed and distributed.
  • Project Management: Plan, direct, and supervise site operations, including the management of sub-contractors and overseeing activities to ensure value for money and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Maintenance Delivery: Contribute to the development and execution of maintenance schedules and statements of need in line with SFG20 standards.

Candidate Profile:

  • Qualifications: A qualified and experienced engineer within the electrical discipline.
  • Skills: Strong supervisory abilities and practical experience with Safe Systems of Work, including the operational delivery of JSP375.
  • Independence: Ability to work autonomously, solve problems, and make informed decisions.
  • Commitment: Willingness to work overtime when needed and participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota.

Desirable Experience:

  • Previous experience working in a MOD environment is advantageous but not essential.
