Role: Electrical/Mechanical Shift Lead Engineer
Location: Menwith Hill, North Yorkshire
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week – Rotating shift pattern including days and nights.
Salary: Up to £50,000
Responsibilities as an Shift Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out essential electrical maintenance and reactive works to a very secure MOD facility.
Key responsibilities include:
- overseeing the maintenance and operation of critical utilities infrastructure to ensure continuous service and optimal performance.
- track the serviceability of mission-critical plant and infrastructure. When equipment failures occur, you’ll initiate responses by coordinating in-house staff or contractors as necessary.
- Monitoring the effectiveness of Planned Maintenance activities
- help develop, review, and maintain Engineering Operating Procedures.
- managing emergency mission-critical spares and generator fuel supplies
- ensure adequate resources are maintained, ordering supplies as needed through station protocols
- Assess ongoing performance, provide reports to the FWO regarding any deficiencies, and manage daily operations involving contractors and internal teams
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience in an Electrical & Mechanical position
- Level 3 qualification in either Electrical or Mechanical works as a minimum
- First aid qualification
- Full UK driving licence to use company vehicles.
- Strong IT skills for system monitoring and reporting.
- You musty be comfortable working on a rotating shift pattern
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in MOD, or critical maintenance environments.
