FM Lead Technician
Location: Moray
Salary: £39,500 per annum
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:00
Holidays: 32 days (including bank holidays)
Requirements: PVG certification (for work in schools), clean driving licence
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and skilled FM Lead Technician to join our team in Moray. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance tasks, ensuring compliance with contractual and legal requirements while maintaining high service standards. This role requires a proactive individual who can oversee maintenance operations, ensure high-quality service delivery, and contribute to the overall efficiency of the facilities management team.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out PPM and reactive maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems
- Conducting emergency lighting testing, fault finding, and remedial repairs
- Ensuring all work is completed within agreed timeframes and in compliance with contractual obligations
- Monitoring and maintaining health, safety, and environmental standards in line with company policies and legislation
- Providing professional oversight and quality assurance on all maintenance tasks
- Identifying and implementing innovations to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency
- Liaising with clients and stakeholders to ensure satisfaction and excellent service levels
- Maintaining accurate records of work completed, compliance checks, and asset conditions
- Supporting the Operations Manager in coordinating maintenance schedules and resource allocation
- Assisting in training and mentoring junior team members to enhance team competency
- Ensuring compliance with BS EN ISO 9001:2000 and other relevant industry standards
Skills & Experience Required
Essential:
- Electrical or mechanical background
- Competent in fault finding and performing PPM tasks within required timeframes
- Full UK driving licence
- Strong understanding of compliance, health & safety regulations, and risk assessments
Desirable:
- 18th Edition qualification (preferred)
- Experience in portable appliance testing and emergency lighting testing
- Commercial gas/plumbing experience (preferred)
