Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities including completed works, materials used, and time spent.
  • Provide technical support and guidance where required and liaise with the wider facilities and engineering teams to support overall service delivery.
  • Supervise subcontractors on site, ensuring quality of workmanship, adherence to health and safety procedures, and timely completion of work.
  • Maintain high standards of customer service, ensuring effective communication with staff, students, and other site users.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrable experience in a commercial plumbing or facilities maintenance role.
  • Recognised plumbing qualifications such as City & Guilds Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing and Heating (C&G 6035, 6129 or equivalent).
  • Full UK driving licence (clean) – essential due to the nature of the role.
  • Good working knowledge of health and safety regulations applicable to plumbing works.
  • Familiarity with planned maintenance systems and asset management practices.
  • Basic IT literacy, including the ability to use Microsoft Excel and Word for record-keeping and job reporting.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with clients, colleagues, and contractors.
