Our client is recruiting for a Commercial Pricing Manager (hybrid) to work from their office in Wimbledon 2 days a week and from home 3 days a week. You will be responsible for managing large portfolios/volumes of tender opportunities (valued at £2M-£10M) reporting to the Client Solutions Director for the UK & Europe.

Your responsibilities at the competitive tender & PQQ stage will include ensuring appropriate and high-quality commercial solutions are created, compliance to bid process and procedures, leading the pricing of tenders and liaising with the Head of Procurement to maximise subcontract benefit, along with general administrative duties. You will ensure the appropriate input is provided from all internal and external stakeholders to achieve a tender submission that meets the requirements of the ITT and ultimately the client. You will need to have an engineering or mechanical/electrical background and be able to travel for the purposes of site visits, tender meetings and client presentations.

Proposal pricing

  • Ensure that all estimating processes and procedures are followed to deliver a submission following tender settlement.
  • Lead on and provide support for the pricing of all tender enquiries received from clients, using both traditional and innovative pricing methods to maximise the company’s ability to win and retain business.
  • Preparation of competitive tender offers in accordance with SFG20, DLM or the client’s requirements and the building asset information.
  • Complete form of tender and cost books with any qualifications and complete contract sum analysis/schedules if necessary.
  • Ensure timely completion of pricing proposals and proformas for solutions and executive review stages.
  • Lead on quality assurance of the estimators, ensuring their commercial proposals meet client standards.

Pricing strategy

  • Constantly reviewing pricing models and procedures to ensure the most efficient, innovative and productive methods are always being applied.
  • Keep up-to-date on industry best practices and ensure that tools and solutions used for bid compilation are relevant, innovative, efficient and effective.
  • Ensure bid management protocols and processes are followed, including periodic reviews.
  • Engage with colleagues, including Operations, Professional Services and SMEs at all levels, as well as external suppliers to ensure the best possible bids are submitted every time.
  • Attend kick-off and/or pricing meetings.

Tender support

  • Undertake site visits to establish and verify asset information provided as part of the tender documentation.
  • Working with other stakeholders to identify, capture and develop win themes for each opportunity.
  • Thoroughly review tender information and highlight any risk areas.
  • Undertake a full analysis of tender returns received during the tender process.
  • Monitor, evaluate and develop existing bid activities and processes with the aim of continual improvement and pursuit of excellence.

Supplier engagement

  • Work with the Strategic Sourcing Manager to promote the use of Avetta registered, Strategic Partners for new and existing contracts.
  • Working with the Strategic Sourcing Manager to procure specialist subcontractors to ensure compliance to the client’s requirements and overall competitiveness and value for money.

Requirements for the role of Commercial Pricing Manager:

  • All applicants must have a thorough knowledge and experience in the process of pricing and estimating hard services in mechanical and electrical maintenance-based contracts.
  • A level of soft services knowledge is desirable though not essential.
  • All applicants must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of SFG20, labour loading and asset verification.
  • All applicants must have 5 years of experience in hard FM or a similar industry.
