We are currently recruiting for a Deputy Facilities Manager to join our well established client, working within a public sector contract.

You will join a busy FM team and take overall responsibility for the day-to-day organisation of planned maintenance work, reactive repairs and local projects.

You will be joining an already well established team of Engineers and a Facilities Manager.

Role and responsibilities

  • Deputise for the on-site Facilities Manager.
  • Manage work load for Engineers.
  • Ensure that teams training is up to date.
  • Follow site health & safety procedures.
  • Risk assessments and safe systems of work.
  • Manage contractors.
  • Organise pre-planned maintenance work.
  • React accordingly to reactive repairs.
  • Manage small local projects.
  • Assist in the development of maintenance plans that ensure that the establishment is safe and compliant.
  • Allocate work according to staff on a daily basis.
  • Track, monitor and manage the progress of work and the productivity of staff.
  • Work to strict deadlines.
  • To manage and monitor the facilities “out of hours” call out roster.

The candidate

  • Strong supervisory/management experience.
  • Engineering qualification or experience.
  • City & Guilds or equivalent mechanical qualification.
  • Forward thinking with a good attitude towards work.
  • Have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability and experience to manage a team of Engineers.
  • Be able to pass security clearance (Including DBS check).
