Core Hours: 06:00-15:00 & 11:00-20:00 on a shift pattern. There will be a requirement to work 1 weekend in 4.

We are seeking an electrically biased tradesperson to join our clients team of operatives based on-site as a Electrical Maintenance Engineer. You will be responsible for undertaking planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and repairs of mechanical/electrical equipment and building fabric within a retail property environment.

Main duties & responsibilities

  • Perform planned and reactive maintenance as instructed by the Contract Manager. This includes fault finding, testing, repairing, and maintaining electrical building services equipment, as well as other electrical duties in support of the team.
  • Conduct various non-specialist building fabric maintenance tasks.
  • Update completed PPM tasks on the site computerised maintenance system.
  • Maintain engineering standards to maximize the operational effectiveness and reliability of plant and associated systems.
  • Coordinate specialist subcontractors’ requirements for both PPM and reactive works.
  • Adhere to company QA and site procedures in all aspects.
  • Follow company & site health & safety procedures at all times.
  • Maintain accurate site records/documentation related to all site works.
  • Inspect the condition of services and address callouts/repairs as required and requested by management.
  • Attend site emergencies outside of normal working hours.
  • Perform tasks within typical plant room environments and at high levels, working from platforms and ladders. All access and PPE will be provided.
  • Maintain all company-issued tools in a safe and serviceable manner.
  • Proactively support the continued success of the contract with a positive approach.
  • Comply with health, safety, and environmental procedures as detailed in the site plans.
  • Complete any other associated tasks as requested by management.

Qualifications & experience

  • City & Guilds/NVQ – Part 1 & Part 2 Electrical Installation/Maintenance or equivalent.
  • 18th Edition IEE.
  • 2391 Test & Inspect.
  • Experience working within a commercial or retail property environment.
