Electrical Bias Multi-Skilled Engineer
Salary – Up to £49,0000

We are currently seeking Electrical Bias Multi-Skilled Engineers to join our client, a national Facilities Management contractor. We are seeking candidates with significant experience in building services maintenance and a strong background in working within corporate, client-facing environments.

The position involves working 12-hour shifts on a 4-on, 4-off schedule (07:00 AM – 19:00 PM) and supporting the call-out rota during shifts.

Role Purpose

To perform planned preventative maintenance and reactive works on building plant, equipment, and systems, ensuring adherence to service levels. The role also includes minor installation works in compliance with client change management protocols and statutory requirements.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine maintenance on building plant, equipment, and systems, meeting service-level agreements.
  • Respond to Building Management System (BMS) alarms and perform emergency repairs as necessary.
  • Oversee the Permit to Work system, ensuring all necessary controls are applied.
  • Maintain compliance with L8 standards for critical cooling and domestic systems, updating logbooks accordingly.
  • Ensure spare parts are available for critical and non-critical plant maintenance.
  • Maintain comprehensive maintenance records (electronic and hard copy).
  • Adhere to Method Statements and Risk Assessments for all tasks, ensuring safe working practices.
  • Supervise engineering subcontractors to ensure compliance with contracts and site processes.
  • Foster positive working relationships with colleagues and client staff.
  • Ensure compliance with site policies, health & safety regulations, and company procedures.
  • Provide shift cover for colleagues and support during annual building shutdowns.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and maintain a professional image at all times.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in critical environments (e.g., Banking HQs, Data Centres).
  • Electrical/Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent.
  • 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations (or 17th Edition with willingness to upskill).
  • C&G 2391 Test and Inspection certification.
  • Experience as an LV Authorised Person (desirable).
  • Strong IT proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office and Adobe/Nitro.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
