The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the electrical infrastructure, ensuring all plant and equipment operates safely and efficiently. • Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of all inspections, test results, faults, and repair work, ensuring traceability and compliance with statutory and organisational requirements.
  • Work collaboratively within the FM team while demonstrating the ability to work independently, managing your workload efficiently and prioritising tasks.
  • Adhere strictly to health and safety policies, including working in a secure environment with the necessary security protocols.
  • Participate in the on-call rota, providing out-of-hours support approximately one week in eight, including potential weekend shifts as needed to maintain business continuity.
  • Engage in continuous professional development activities and training to maintain up-to-date technical knowledge and compliance with industry standards.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Possession of a recognised electrical qualification such as a City & Guilds Electrical Certificate or equivalent trade qualification.
  • Completion of a formal electrical apprenticeship programme.
  • Current certification to BS7671 (IET Wiring Regulations, latest edition).
  • Minimum of 5 years’ post-apprenticeship practical experience working as an electrician, ideally within a facilities management, industrial, or secure environment.
  • Proven experience with fault diagnosis, maintenance, and installation of electrical systems and plant.

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong technical competency in electrical installations, inspection, testing, and maintenance.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, drawings, and technical manuals.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in fault diagnosis and repair.
  • Capable of working independently as well as within a team environment.
  • Commitment to health and safety best practices, with a clear understanding of working in secure or restricted environments.
  • Flexibility and willingness to participate in on-call duties and occasional out-of-hours work.
  • Good communication skills, including the ability to produce clear and accurate reports and documentation.

Offer

  • Competitive salary package at £36,500 per annum.
  • Pension scheme with employer contributions up to 6%.
  • Access to an Employee Assistance Programme offering confidential support services.
  • Opportunities for career progression and professional development, including the chance to gain additional qualifications.
  • A culture that values diversity, inclusion, and respect in the workplace.
  • Comprehensive benefits portal offering discounts on retail, leisure, and hospitality brands.
  • Free onsite parking and blue light discounts.
  • Supportive and collaborative working environment focused on work-life balance.
