Electrician – Full Time, Permanent
Location: Various sites across Gloucestershire (including Imjin Barracks, and Ashchurch)
Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent
Salary: Up to £35,000, dependent on experience + standby fee of £21.50/day
Working Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM), including an on-call rota 1 week in every 5
About the Role:
We are recruiting for an experienced Electrician to join a well-established team responsible for reactive, planned preventative, and remedial electrical works at several commercial and industrial sites in Gloucestershire. Key locations include Imjin Barracks and Ashchurch. You’ll be part of a team of 5 electricians within a larger engineering team of 21. Working independently on assigned tasks, you’ll be responsible for maintaining electrical systems in warehouses, offices, hangars, and other facilities. Typical duties include installing new light fittings, emergency lighting checks, generator testing, UPS unit replacements, and distribution board inspections.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete statutory, mandatory, and planned maintenance tasks
- Undertake compliance activity and minor installation works (e.g., refurbishment projects)
- Handle tasks through a central helpdesk using a PDA to self-schedule
- Collaborate with the on-site team when needed
Skills & Experience Required:
- Essential:
- C&G 2357 NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation
- 18th Edition qualification
- Full, clean UK driving license (company van provided for business use)
- Experience in commercial or industrial electrical work
- Desirable:
- C&G 2391 in Inspection and Testing
- Health & Safety qualification
- Asbestos Awareness training
- Experience in MOD or construction/property maintenance environments
- Security Clearance: Must be able to pass SC clearance to be eligible for this role.
