Job Title: Mechanical Engineer – Plumbing and HVAC Specialist

Location: Battersea

Salary: £38,000 – £40,000

The Role:

Mainstay Recruitment are working with our client a large Facilities Management company to recruit an experienced Mechanical Engineer. This role involves planned and reactive maintenance of commercial plumbing and HVAC systems with an education setting.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting commercial plumbing and HVAC systems.
  • Performing routine and preventive maintenance to ensure system reliability and safety compliance.
  • Resolving technical issues with HVAC systems, boilers, pumps, and plumbing infrastructure.
  • Working closely with facilities teams and contractors to implement repairs and upgrades.
  • Conducting risk assessments and adhering to all safety and compliance standards.
  • Keeping comprehensive records of maintenance tasks, including schedules and logs.

 

Qualifications and Experience

    • Level 2 or 3 NVQ Diploma in Plumbing and Heating.
    • F-Gas Certification for refrigerant handling (Category 1 preferred).
    • C&G 2079 Refrigerant Handling Qualification or equivalent.
    • At least 3–5 years of hands-on experience in commercial plumbing and HVAC systems.
    • Experience in building maintenance, especially in institutional settings like colleges or schools.
    • Strong problem-solving ability and the capability to work independently.
    • Excellent communication for effective collaboration with teams and stakeholders.
