Mechanical Maintenance Fitter – RAF Menwith Hill
Location: RAF Menwith Hill, Harrogate, HG3 2RF
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:30 (Early Finish on Fridays)
Salary: £30,000 – £40,000 per annum (Dependent on Experience)
The Role
Seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our client’s Operations & Maintenance team at RAF Menwith Hill. This is a hands-on role involving the installation, maintenance, and repair of critical mechanical systems such as boilers, cooling towers, generators, pumps, and compressed air systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Fault-finding, calibration, and testing of plant equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Maintenance of the water treatment plant for cooling towers.
- Inspecting and reassembling boilers and air receivers.
- Supporting the wider team with mechanical maintenance tasks across the site.
What We’re Looking For
- NVQ Level 3 qualification or recognised apprenticeship in mechanical engineering.
- Three or more years’ experience in mechanical maintenance.
- Emergency First Aid at Work certification (preferred).
- Experience with large generator sets and controls (advantageous).
- Knowledge of CMMS systems for maintenance management (desirable).
- IT literacy, including Microsoft Office applications.
Security Clearance Requirement: Due to the nature of the role, applicants must be a UK or US national and capable of obtaining DV Enhanced Security Clearance.
