Role: Mechanical Estimator & Project Manager
Location: Redditch
Package: £55,000 + £6,000 car allowance

Our client is a well-established Mechanical Services Business with over 34 years’ experience in the installation and maintenance of electrical and mechanical systems. They are seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator / Project Manager to support continued growth within the Facilities Maintenance and Commercial sectors.

The business delivers projects nationwide across Commercial, Regeneration (social housing), PPM, and Rail divisions, employing over 120 staff.

We are now looking for a proactive individual to help drive the development of the mechanical division and support operational activities.

Role Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, securing new tender opportunities aligned with business objectives.
  • Prepare accurate tender submissions and quotations in collaboration with the wider team.
  • Work effectively under pressure to meet tender deadlines, adapting to changes and producing value-engineering solutions where required.
  • Manage contracts, including procurement and control of labour and materials within budget.
  • Attend site meetings as required.
  • Prepare and issue timely valuations for all assigned contracts.
  • Support accreditation requirements within the business.
  • Assist with health & safety, quality, and delivery standards for installation works.
  • Contribute to developing and managing operational teams, including supervisors.

Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate will be a time-served mechanical engineer with broad knowledge of both domestic and commercial mechanical systems. Required qualifications include:

  • Unvented Hot Water Storage Systems certification
  • Domestic Gas: CCN1, CENWAT, CDGA1, CIGA1, CORT1, CoNGLP1 (PD)
  • Commercial Gas: COCN1, BMP1, ICPN1, TPCP1, TPCP1A
  • City & Guilds 2382 (17th Edition wiring regulations)
  • CSCS card
  • Strong IT skills across Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Good understanding of current Health & Safety and environmental legislation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to working hours
  • Strong team player with the ability to work independently
