We are recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias for our national client based in Manchester.

What the Multi-Skilled Engineer will do…

The friendly and supportive Site Engineering Team is led by the Engineering Manager who will be on hand to guide and advise you through your Engineering career.

The food manufacturing/production sites use automated and semi-automated lines to produce great products as efficiently as possible. Your time will be split between developing engineering improvements for an ever-changing environment and reacting to problems daily. The site is currently very reactive and you will be expected to find solutions to breakdowns quickly and effectively, comfortably engaging with the site teams to monitor plant performance and equipment reliability, all in line with company policies and procedures.

You will work to safely maintain and improve the performance of production facilities, equipment and services, delivering maintenance excellence in a planned preventive way. You’ll work collaboratively within and across the site teams, including with the Maintenance Manager, team members and other departments.

Requirements of the role

  • Minimum 3 years experience in FMCG
  • Minimum 3 years experience post-completion of apprenticeship
  • Must be electrical bias and hold one of the following as a minimum:
    • NVQ Level 3 in Engineering Field
    • HNC / HND in Electrical Engineering
    • Advanced apprenticeship in Engineering (electrical)
    • Advanced apprenticeship in Electrical & Mechanical Engineering

Desirable qualifications/courses

  • 18th edition wiring regulations
  • PLC trained (Siemens)
  • Degree level
  • Atex / DSEAR

Shift patterns

  • 42 hours/week on average
  • Variation of 4 on 4 off (two weekends on two weekends off)
  • 06:00-18:00 and 18:00-06:00.
