Location: MoD Lyneham to Warminster (with travel between sites)
Job Role: Multi Skilled Operative
Hours: Full-Time, Permanent | 40 hours/week | Monday–Friday
On Call: 1 in 8 weeks (includes Saturday work: 8:00AM–12:30PM)
Salary: £34,000 per year + Van and Fuel Card + On Call Bonus

Mainstay Recruitment is hiring on behalf of our client for a Multi Skilled Operative to work across MOD domestic accommodation. This is a varied and hands-on role offering the chance to work independently on repairs, maintenance, and installation tasks. You’ll be the go-to problem solver, ensuring homes are safe, functional, and comfortable for military families.

The Role:

You’ll carry out a wide range of tasks including:

• Plumbing repairs
• Minor building works
• Grounds and drainage maintenance
• Plastering, tiling, decorating
• General multi-trade duties

Your focus will be on delivering both planned and reactive maintenance with a “Right First Time” approach. You’ll be expected to:

• Work independently and take ownership of repairs
• Maintain high safety and quality standards
• Log work and material usage via electronic and paper systems
• Provide excellent customer service and build trust with residents and stakeholders
• Support a standby rota for out-of-hours emergency cover

What We’re Looking For:

We’re seeking a hands-on, adaptable professional with:

• Proven experience in multi-trade work (domestic housing preferred)
• A full UK driving licence
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• A flexible and reliable approach to changing work demands
• A commitment to delivering great service and high standards of workmanship
