We are currently recruiting for a motivated and ambitious Small Works Manager to join our clients dynamic and fast-paced environment, delivering a wide range of minor works projects in support of UK military accommodation and infrastructure.

You will play a key role in delivering damp and mould remediation, kitchen and bathroom upgrades, and full internal refurbishments. This role involves leading the end- to-end delivery of low-value, high-turnover projects—ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities of the Small Works Manager

  • Lead day-to-day management of multiple minor works projects.
  • Manage and coordinate contractors and suppliers across various programmes.
  • Develop and oversee procurement plans and tender documentation.
  • Ensure robust project delivery aligned with contractual obligations and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain financial control and manage budgets effectively.
  • Deliver high levels of customer satisfaction and service quality.
  • Ensure full Health & Safety compliance including adherence to CDM and asbestos regulations.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders including service families and government organisations.
  • Maintain accurate records and provide regular, clear reporting.

What You’ll Need

  • Proven experience in project and contract management within housing, construction, or similar sectors.
  • Strong background in supervising contractors and managing term contracts.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and reporting skills.
  • Strong understanding of compliance, health & safety, and risk management.
  • Relevant qualifications in construction, contract management or property (e.g., HNC, HND, degree).
  • SMSTS or similar Health & Safety certification (desirable).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including MS Project.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Ability to obtain SC (Security Check) Clearance.
