Working hours:  40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00-17:00 – on call 1 in 4

Our client is looking to hire a motivated and ambitious Electrician to work in Ilchester and the surrounding area.

You will be responsible for successfully delivering the day-to-day reactive electrical repairs to domestic buildings.

You will be provided with a work van (that is opt-in for personal use) and will be working individually at your tasks that are scheduled up to 24 hours in advance to undertake electrical reactive repairs and maintenance.

Other key responsibilities of the Electrician include:

  • To work individually or as part of a team undertaking high-quality electrical repairs testing and or insulation works.
  • To comply with BS7671 standards and company standards of work performance, ensuring implantation and compliance within electrical policies and procedures.
  • Ensure implantation and compliance with company health and safety policies and procedures.
  • To undertake a continual programme of risk assessment in relation to your role.
  • Utilise both electronic and paper-based systems to accurately record electrical documentation including the use of materials against each job.
  • Liaise with residents, clients and members of the supply chain.
  • Maintain van stocks and provide information enabling the improvements of right-first-time fixes.

What you’ll need to do this role

  • An NVQ Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation Work.
  • 18th Edition – BS 7671.
  • A qualification in inspection and testing – desirable.

This role will require you to travel to remote sites weekly therefore it is essential that you hold a clean and valid UK driving licence or can travel to remote locations without the use of public transport.

You must be able to pass BPSS Clearance to be considered for this role.
