I have been with Mainstay since January 2022 as an Accounts and Payroll Assistant.

I work within the wider payroll team ensuring all of our workers are paid accurately and on time.

My role consists of different day-to-day tasks. Mainly from the start of the week to the middle of the week I am chasing our workers’ hours and

inputting them onto our internal systems. After all the hours are back and input, we would upload them onto our software to begin the process of the Tax and NI deductions.

In the second half of the week, my role is more accounts orientated which could consist of me making/ sending invoices or credit notes, as well as credit control which is where I would chase clients about overdue invoices and clearing of payments. Alongside my working with Mainstay, I do an AAT level 4 Diploma course after work to progress to get my ACA. From the course, I have learned many skills which I apply to my role at Mainstay.

I enjoy working at Mainstay because it is a very friendly environment to work in and everyone is very supportive. I also enjoy when we play football every month as it builds relationships between the other departments, and you get to know people in the other departments that you wouldn’t speak to much at work. I also am grateful for having such an involved and supportive manager, Jordan, who is always there to help with any issues I may have and Scott is a great supervisor too.

Outside of work, I play 8 ball pool, I am actually a semi-pro and have played in the nationals. This is something I liked to do every weekend with my team. When I am not training with my pool team I like to socialise with friends at the pub and the driving range.
