Role: Commercial Gas Engineer
Location: Aberdeen
Salary: £45,000 + company van + Fuel card and on-call premium

Mainstay Recruitment is seeking a qualified and experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to join our client’s team. This role involves working on a variety of maintenance, installation, and repair tasks to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct annual and interim maintenance visits in line with the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations.
  • Install gas pipework, including carrying out appropriate tightness and strength testing.
  • Replace heating controls and components as per manufacturer instructions.
  • Perform Combustion Performance Analysis on gas appliances.
  • Investigate and diagnose faults using manufacturer technical literature.
  • Attend gas escape reports and suspected fumes incidents in compliance with regulations.
  • Adhere to the Gas Industry Unsafe Situations Procedures, including issuing warning labels and notices.
  • Complete all necessary legal documentation using a handheld PDA system.
  • Undertake pipework alterations and repairs.
  • Replace parts to complete repairs or install new components such as radiators, valves, and pipework.
  • Respond to daily reactive repair requests as required.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Commercial ACS Qualifications: CCN1, CODN01, CIGA1, CORT1, ICPN1, TPCP1, TPCP1A, CONLP1-1PD.
  • Registration with OFTEC and BPEC (where required).
  • Water Byelaws qualification.
  • Awareness of Health & Safety Regulations.
  • Full, clean, and current driving licence.
  • Ability to work under pressure and on own initiative.
  • High standards of working practice with the ability to lead by example.
  • Excellent communication skills and a team-player mindset.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to work.

Additional Attributes:

  • High awareness of health and safety to ensure consistent adherence to safety standards.
  • Capability to perform system pressure tests and make necessary repairs.
