Commercial Gas Engineer
Location: Mobile role around Liverpool and the North West
Responsible to: Gas & Mechanical Manager

Our client, a well known FM maintenance contractor are looking for a dedicated and experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to join their Gas & Mechanical Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a team that prioritises quality service and customer satisfaction.
 
Role Summary:
As Commercial Gas Engineer, you will be responsible for attending customer sites to carry out routine planned maintenance, repairs, and call-outs, ensuring that all work is completed to a high standard. You will work closely with the management team to deliver excellent service in accordance to the SLA’s and KPI’s on the contract.
 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a first-class service to customers, going above and beyond whenever necessary.
  • Maintain a trusted and professional relationship with customers, ensuring satisfaction.
  • Carry out planned maintenance, repairs, and call-outs for Gas & Plumbing services.
  • Troubleshoot and find solutions to ensure first-time fixes on-site.
  • Communicate effectively with planners, keeping them updated on job progress and ensuring timely completion.
  • Ensure all areas, including plant rooms and workspaces, are left clean and tidy.
  • Accurately record data and complete compliance paperwork using Job Logic.
  • Obtain quotes from suppliers to ensure accurate material costing within 72 hours.
  • Participate in the call-out rota to provide out-of-hours support for reactive call-outs.
  • Support team development and continuous improvement of working methods.
  • Adhere to all Health & Safety requirements and regulations on-site.

 
Smart Targets:

  • Maintain boilers and plant to ensure gas compliance.
  • Achieve an 80% first-time fix rate on breakdowns/call-outs.
  • Produce quotes within 24 hours of being on-site to ensure a 72-hour turnaround time for the quoting team.
  • Capture videos for all call-outs, repairs, and a sample of PPM visits.
  • Maintain high standards for paperwork and documentation, ensuring clarity for invoicing.

 
Person Specification:
 
Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Gas & Plumbing Engineer.
  • Gas Safe registered.
  • Relevant gas qualifications (e.g., COCN1, CODNCO1).
  • IPAF/PASMA card (or willingness to work at heights).
  • Strong fault-finding and service work background.
  • IT literate (Basic to Intermediate level with Microsoft packages).
  • Full UK Driving License.
