Job Title: FM Electrician

About the Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and dedicated FM Electrician to join the Facilities Management team at HMP Fosse Way, a new Category C resettlement prison in Leicester with a capacity for 1,700 prisoners. You will play a key role in ensuring the electrical systems within the prison are maintained to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fault finding and defect rectification on electrical plant and equipment.
- Carrying out pre-planned maintenance of electrical systems.
- Installing new electrical plant and apparatus as needed.
- Documenting inspection findings and resolving issues independently or as part of a team.
- Participating in an on-call roster (1 in 8 weeks), with occasional out-of-hours and weekend work.
Working Hours:
- Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:30. Flexibility for out-of-hours and weekend work as required.
Qualifications & Experience:
- City & Guilds Electrical Certificate or equivalent qualification.
- Completion of a recognized electrical apprenticeship.
- Qualified to BS7671 (current IEE regulations).
- At least 5 years of post-apprenticeship experience in electrical work.
- Willingness to undertake additional training to further enhance technical skills.
