We are currently recruiting for a Deputy Facilities Manager to join our well-established client, working within a public sector contract. You will join a busy FM team and take overall responsibility for the day-to-day organisation of planned maintenance work, reactive repairs and local projects. You will be joining an already well-established team of 15 Engineers, a Senior Engineer and a Facilities Manager.
Role and responsibilities
- Deputise for the on-site Facilities Manager.
- Manage workload for Engineers.
- Ensure that team training is up to date.
- Follow site health & safety procedures.
- Risk assessments and safe systems of work.
- Manage contractors.
- Organise pre-plan maintenance work.
- React accordingly to reactive repairs.
- Manage small local projects.
- Assist in the development of maintenance plans that ensure that the establishment is safe and compliant.
- Allocate work according to staff on a daily basis.
- Track, monitor and manage the progress of work and the productivity of staff.
- Work to strict deadlines.
- To manage and monitor the facility’s ‘out of hours’ call-out roster.
The candidate
- Strong supervisory/management experience.
- Engineering qualification or experience.
- City & Guilds (or equivalent) mechanical qualification.
- Forward-thinking with a good attitude towards work.
- Have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability and experience to manage a team of engineers.
- Be able to pass security clearance (including DBS check).
