We are currently recruiting for a Bookkeeper on a part-time basis, for our well-established client based in Oxford. As a Bookkeeper, you will be involved with surface-level accounting for the business and will have previous experience in a similar role.
Responsibilities include:
- Recording transactions income and outgoing, posting them to ledgers on Sage accounts.
- Processing payments.
- Conducting daily banking activities.
- Producing various financial reports.
- Reconciling reports to third-party records such as bank statements.
- Preparing employee wages.
- Managing employee expense claims.
- Helping the Finance Manager with administrative duties and preparing yearly accounts.
- Completing VAT returns.
- Maintaining the company’s financials for the Apprenticeship Levy Scheme.
The successful Bookkeeper will have:
- Must be able to hold an SC Security Clearance.
- Good attention to detail to enter correct data into financial records and recognise errors.
- Mathematics skills for accurate record-keeping.
- Administrative skills for filing financial records.
- Computer literacy, especially familiarity with spreadsheets, and accounting software such as Microsoft Office, Excel, and Sage.
- Multi-tasking and organisational skills to manage different financial duties, including the ability to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines.
- Interpersonal and customer service skills for dealing with customers, suppliers, and other employees in the company.
- Communication skills, including the ability to explain complex financial matters in accessible terms.
- To be honest, discreet, and trustworthy.
- Ideally qualified to AAT Bookkeeping level.
