We are partnered with a leading transport and logistics company that is seeking an IT Infrastructure Engineer who will design, implement and maintain infrastructure solutions that support the business operations and drive our success.

You will be joining a small but experienced team of like-minded engineers, focusing mainly on project-based work. Your knowledge and expertise will be vital in improving the IT infrastructure estate within this company.

As an Infrastructure Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Design, configure, and deploy Cisco networking solutions to ensure efficient and secure communication across our enterprise.
  • Manage and optimise VMware virtualization environments, ensuring high availability and optimal performance for critical applications.
  • Plan, implement, and maintain firewall solutions to safeguard our network infrastructure and data assets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
  • Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and perform routine maintenance to ensure seamless operation.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices, applying this knowledge to enhance our infrastructure and security posture.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and provide timely response to infrastructure-related emergencies.

The successful Infrastructure Engineer will have:

  • Extensive hands-on experience with Cisco networking.
  • Proficiency in designing, deploying, and managing VMware vSphere environments.
  • Strong background in firewall administration and security protocols.
  • Solid understanding of network protocols, routing, switching, 
  • Windows server knowledge.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving infrastructure challenges.
