Mainstay Recruitment is currently seeking a Junior Security Analyst for a global service provider highly engaged in public sector projects. As a Junior Security Analyst, you’ll play a critical role in various business functions, ensuring adherence to stringent security protocols across projects, new product developments, and stakeholder interactions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reporting directly to the Deputy Head of Cyber Security, the Junior Security Analyst will collaborate with local security and operational teams to ensure compliance with internal and external requirements.
- Reviewing the effectiveness of security control applications for the organisation and its clientele.
- Analysing security incidents, ensuring proper closure, and implementing preventive measures.
- Assisting in local InfoSec reviews and integrating feedback from external audits.
- Promoting security and compliance awareness throughout the organisation.
- Participating in operational security services such as SOC, SIEM, penetration testing, and vulnerability scanning.
- Assessing and addressing security-related change requests for data centre customer tenancies.

- Be familiar with security standards, including scanning and protective monitoring, access control systems, CCTV systems, security architectures, and prevailing information security threats.
Essential skills
To thrive as a Junior Security Analyst, you should possess:
- DV Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one.
- A proactive self-starter attitude, eager to learn and drive security initiatives.
- Strong understanding of IT security principles.
- Basic knowledge of Windows, MS 365, Linux, virtualization, networking, storage, and familiarity with E365 security toolsets.
- Preferably, a Cyber-related degree from a university.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Experience collaborating within multi-disciplinary teams.
- Willingness to undergo the security clearance process to achieve the required level.
- Desirable experience with security-related technologies, processes, methods, or architectures.
