We are currently seeking an experienced Material Handler on behalf of our long-standing West Bromwich based client. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient offloading of raw materials into the company, operating overhead cranes and counterbalances etc.

Duties

• Operate material handling equipment such as cranes and forklifts.
• Offload, identify and safely store raw material in coil and flat sheet form.
• Take responsibility for the inspection of goods for quality and quantity.
• Enter traceability data into manual and/or electronic records.
• Ensure good levels of 5S are maintained in the area.
• Be involved in continuous improvement processes 7 driving through improvements in all aspects of the role.
• Ensure health & safety procedures are followed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• All offloading of raw materials achieved in a timely manner.

Candidate requirements

• In-date counterbalance licence.
• Experience of operating an overhead crane.
• A good knowledge of material handling processes.
• Able to work as part of a team and as an individual.
• Motivation to beat targets safely and required quality standards.

Hours of work

• 3 shift rotation. Days (06:00-14:00), Afternoons (14:00-22:00), Nights (22:00-06:00)
• Rate of pay: £12.00/hour + overtime
