We are currently seeking a Utilities Manager for an organisation dedicated to ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of critical facilities. As a Utilities Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the implementation and operation of utility metering projects nationwide, directly supporting our clients in understanding energy consumption, reducing costs, and achieving carbon reduction objectives.

The suitable candidate will be prepared to be on the road for 3 days out of 5, travelling to multiple sites across the country.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of metering projects within defined timeframes and budgets.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with metering consultants and contractors to support net-zero carbon initiatives, overseeing this aspect.
  • Develop and manage framework agreements for metering rollout and data collation.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and designs through subcontractor networks, with oversight from the Utilities Manager.
  • Provide technical support on metering technologies to internal and external stakeholders, as directed by the Utilities Manager.
  • Champion the use of metering technologies across the company through case studies and sharing successes.
  • Deliver progress reports for internal and external stakeholders led by the Utilities Manager.
  • Develop pipeline and financial forecasts for metering projects.
  • Ensure appropriate work plans and budgets are in place to achieve programme deliverables.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to manage and mitigate programme risks.
  • Manage costs and stakeholder expectations through effective communication and commercial decisions.

Requirements

  • The ideal candidate will have relevant qualifications in Building/Civil Engineering or Electrical/Mechanical Engineering e.g HNC/D level qualification.
  • Proven experience in delivering metering projects and managing metering implementation.
  • Expertise in metering technologies and meter data collection – essential.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, a competency crucial for success.
  • Ability to plan, direct, control, and report on activities.
  • Proficiency in IT skills, including Excel, Word, CAFM, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively.
